SOLD OUT

We will be spending an immersive day enjoying  the fun of making your own unique sandals to fit your feet under the guidance of Rosa and her 30 years experience in Shoe design and making. There will be a choice of supple luxury leathers and suedes for you to choose from.

We’ll explore every step of the sandal-making process, starting off by customising tried and tested patterns to suit your own feet and design preferences. Then we’ll cut and assemble the leather pieces, making sure they fit you as we go. Next we’ll attach the layers to a vegetable tanned leather insole, add a natural cork layer, before finally adding the flexible and lightweight rubber outsole. We will use tools to sand down the edges and add the finishing touches of buckles or laces.

This class is hard work: be prepared to use utility knives, adhesive, hammers, mallets, shoe anvils, and to get barefoot! I recommend you wear an apron and/or old clothes to work in.

Tea, coffee and snacks provided. Visit one of many nice local cafes or bring a packed lunch. We will aim to finish by 4 pm but be prepared to spend a little longer if necessary.

I will send an info pack ahead of the class so you can select your size and leather colours and think about which style you prefer in advance. Classes are limited to 5 participants to give plenty of individual attention.
