We have a variety of fun and informative workshops to choose from and can cater to small groups. Alternatively come on your own and learn with like minded people. If you dont see what you are looking for get in touch and we can discuss a session especially for you.

1 DAY LUXURY BAG MAKING WORKSHOP

Luxury navy bag workshop with charm 1_ed

We are collaborating with expert luxury bagmaker Jana Smirnova of @Janasstudio, to offer an immersive day, learning to make your own unique and personalised leather hand bag including a stunning bag charm. Luxury leather and high quality fittings are provided for you to work with to ensure a stylish and high end finish to your bags and you will be able to take away a luxury handmade bag exclusive to you.

We’ll explore every step of the bagmaking process, starting off by cutting and preparing the edges. Then we’ll fit and stitch in the zip and assemble the leather pieces. We will use tools and specialist techniques to refine the edges and add the finishing touches of quality metal hardware and customise the length of the shoulder strap.

​

This class is hard work: be prepared to use utility knives, mallets and other specialist tools and equipment. I recommend you wear an apron and/or old clothes to work in, tie long hair back and wear closed toe shoes for safety.

​

All materials, artisan teas, freshly brewed coffee and pastries provided. 

​

I will send an info pack ahead of the class so you can get a feel of the plan for the day. Classes are small to make sure you receive plenty of individual attention.

We have teamed up with expert leatherworker Johnette Taylor, together we have over 50 years experience, to offer an immersive morning enjoying  the fun of making your own unique dog collar to fit your/your friend's dog in the beautiful setting of Abney Park. Luxury vegetable tan leather and pure brass fittings are provided for you to work with to ensure strong and durable collars. 

​

We’ll explore every step of the dog collar making process, starting off by measuring your own dog's collar and selecting the leather width. Then we’ll cut and assemble the leather pieces. We will use tools to sand down the edges and add the finishing touches of sturdy brass buckles and rivets.

​

This class is hard work: be prepared to use utility knives, mallets and other specialist tools. I recommend you wear an apron and/or old clothes to work in and closed toe shoes for safety.

​

Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. 

​

We will send an info pack ahead of the class so you can indicate your collar size, ie: sm/med/large. Classes are small to make sure you receive plenty of individual attention. We recommend you bring an old collar to guide you to ensure a perfect fit.

Join bespoke shoemaker Rosa Fior from Antigone in collaboration with WAX Atelier for a one-day workshop where you’ll design and make your own pair of unisex style leather buckled sandals—perfectly fitted to your feet.

Held in our peaceful Abney Park studio, you'll learn traditional leatherworking skills using beautiful natural materials: leather, beeswax, and naturally dyed waxed linen cloth & thread.

No experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to make something with your hands.

We will be spending an immersive day enjoying  the fun of making your own unique sandals to fit your feet under the guidance of Rosa and her 30 years experience in Shoe design and making. There will be a choice of supple luxury leathers and suedes for you to choose from. 

​

We’ll explore every step of the sandal-making process, starting off by customising tried and tested patterns to suit your own feet and design preferences. Then we’ll cut and assemble the leather pieces, making sure they fit you as we go. Next we’ll attach the layers to a vegetable tanned leather insole, add a natural cork layer, before finally adding the flexible and lightweight rubber outsole. We will use tools to sand down the edges and add the finishing touches of buckles or laces.

​

This class is hard work: be prepared to use utility knives, adhesive, hammers, mallets, shoe anvils, and to get barefoot! I recommend you wear an apron and/or old clothes to work in.

​

Tea, coffee and snacks provided. Visit one of many nice local cafes or bring a packed lunch. We will aim to finish by 4 pm but be prepared to spend a little longer if necessary.

​

I will send an info pack ahead of the class so you can select your size and leather colours and think about which style you prefer in advance. Classes are limited to 4 participants to give plenty of individual attention. 1 to 1 classes at other times by arrangement. email for more information.
